          ── between the lack of grimm to fight and no proper classes to attend, weiss has found herself feeling a bit lost ─ in more ways than simply not knowing her way around the area yet. any purpose that she’d had is now GONE ─ no relics to find, no people to defend, no company to take back . . . adjusting hasn’t been the easiest. ( but, at the very least, weiss is grateful she hasn’t had to so alone. )

     so, needless to say, when an opportunity presents itself to make use of her time and help someone out in the process, weiss is more thrilled. she’d already been itching to see this world’s wildlife ( especially adorable little penguins! she might not willingly admit this out loud so easily, though. ) so there’s really no drawbacks ─ weiss doesn’t even really care for a reward, at this point. 

     she can’t think of anyone else better to accomplish this task with her, either. 

     weiss arrived early to their meeting place. a new, thick coat hugs her frame ─ she’s grateful one of the shopkeepers accepted resources as a trade. she has a camera ( one she borrowed, of course! ) hanging from her neck and a spare jacket: one adorned with red accents. oh, she didn’t forget gloves, either! myrtenaster rests at her hip; weiss doesn’t expect to encounter danger but she feels far too naked without her prized rapier. at this point, it’s habit.

     she smiles upon seeing a familiar red cape rushing towards her. ruby. weiss takes a few steps forward to close the distance. she’d offer a hug, but her armful of items prevents so. 

     ❝ you’re on time, ruby. i’m impressed. ❞ she teases, presenting the jacket and gloves, ❝ here, take these. we don’t know how long we’ll be out and i’m not having either of us catch a cold today. i won’t take ‘ no ’ for an answer. ❞ she’s firm but lighthearted at the same time, practically shoving the extra clothes at her partner.

     ❝ the shoreline where we’ll find the penguins isn’t that far of a walk. ❞ weiss informs ─ she’d made sure she knew where they were going this time ─ ❝ and since we’re just taking pictures, we shouldn’t have to disturb them too much. ❞ a nod follows suit. sure ─ she may have over-prepared... but she can’t help feeling warm doing something like this together again. it feels almost like home among this strange world.
